Bill Erwin Original Watercolor Noon Light in Pleasant Valley Bucks County Barns 2000
Original watercolor by Bucks County, Pennsylvania artist Bill (William) Erwin, titled Noon Light in Pleasant Valley in pencil on the mat and signed W Erwin 2000 on the painting with the artist's initials and date repeated on the mat. Two weathered barns sit on a sunlit hillside with evergreens behind and golden late-summer grass and a fallen limb in the foreground, painted in a loose, confident hand with strong midday light. Double matted in white with a narrow pink inner liner and set in an ornate gold-toned composite frame with scrollwork and foliate relief, under glass. Overall framed size approximately 24 by 19 inches; image approximately 14 by 10 inches. Please confirm with a tape measure if size is critical. A handwritten provenance label on the back records the purchase in December 2000 at the opening of the artist's show at a gallery, noting the artist was a high school friend of the buyer's family. Condition is good. Mat is clean with no visible foxing or staining, glass intact, frame shows minor edge wear from handling.
