Framed Print Lucy D. Stickney 1830 Sampler A Morning in Spring Charlestown
$50.00
Art
Framed and matted print of the well known needlework sampler "A Morning in Spring," wrought by Lucy D. Stickney of Charlestown, Massachusetts in 1830 at age 12. The original sampler is in the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum; this is a decorative reproduction print (licensed poster edition circa 1985), not a stitched textile. It shows three alphabets, the verse, a view of a house among trees and a border of rose garlands with blue bows, in soft lavender and pink tones. Wood frame with mauve mat under glass. Frame shows light wear. Local pickup recommended because of the glass.
