Signed and Framed Floral Still Life Painting

A richly painted floral still life featuring a generous bouquet of large red poppies arranged in a round terracotta vase, accented by white pompom flowers and lush green foliage against a dark, moody background. The work is painted on canvas and displays confident, textured brushwork throughout the petals and leaves. Two signatures are visible: 'N. Heywood' inscribed in paint on the lower canvas, and a bold red 'M' monogram in the lower right corner, suggesting either a secondary artist mark or a publisher stamp. The painting is housed in a distinctive octagonal-clipped-corner gold frame with a molded profile and protective glass. The gilded frame shows honest age and wear, with some paint loss and patina along the edges consistent with vintage use. The canvas itself appears in good condition with no visible tears or significant losses. A lovely traditional piece that would suit a classic, Victorian, or cottage-style interior. Overall framed dimensions appear to be approximately 20 by 16 inches, but buyers should confirm exact measurements.
