Leschke Pletcher Rosedale Perfecto Antique Wooden Cigar Boxes Hartford CT Chromo

Two Antique wooden cigar boxes from Belleair and Leschke & Pletcher of Hartford, Connecticut, for their Rosedale Perfecto brand at 18 cents a cigar. The reason to own this one is the inner lid: a full color chromolithograph in beautiful condition showing red and pink roses spilling around a stone urn, with bluebirds in flight past a classical colonnade, all under LESCHKE & PLETCHER ROSEDALE in red and black. The colors are still bright and the sheet is nearly complete. A second printed panel below it reads Leschke & Pletcher, ROSEDALE, Hartford Conn. The outside is honest and well used: the top shows the printed ROSEDALE crest on bare wood, the green FORTY MINUTES IN HAVANA border strips run around the edges with wear, chipping and lifting at the corners, ROSEDALE Perfecto is printed across the front, and the Guaranteed Hand Made seal and fragments of the original green revenue stamps are still in place. The wood is solid with no breaks or splits and the hinge works. Inside is clean and empty with no cigar smell of note. Measures about 9.5 by 6.5 by 2 inches. Buy it for the label art, and it still works as a desk catchall, a keepsake box or the start of a cigar box guitar.
