Adam Scheidt Brewing Co Norristown PA Antique Aqua Beer Bottle Crown Top Embosse

Antique aqua glass beer bottle embossed ADAM SCHEIDT BR CO over NORRISTOWN around the shoulder. The Adam Scheidt Brewing Company ran in Norristown, Pennsylvania from the 1880s into the middle of the twentieth century and is best remembered for Valley Forge beer and Rams Head ale, so this is a solid piece of Montgomery County brewery history. Tall tapered body with a long neck and a crown top finish, which dates it to roughly 1905 through 1920. Smooth base with no maker mark. Stands about 9 inches tall on a base near 2.5 inches across. The real charm here is the surface: years underground have left a soft rainbow iridescence across the shoulder and body that flashes pink and green in the light, the effect dug bottle collectors call sick glass and actively look for. Condition is good for age with no chips and no cracks. There is dirt and sediment inside the body and neck, soil in the base recess and light scratches on the exterior. Sold uncleaned, as found.
