Antique Asa Jones MD Phila Embossed Aqua Medicine Bottle Druggist with Cork

Antique aqua glass medicine bottle embossed ASA JONES M.D. down a sunken front panel, with PHILA on the side panel. Rectangular body with beveled corners and recessed label panels, a long slender neck and a tooled prescription lip. The original cork is still seated in the mouth, dried and crumbling but present. Stands about 5 inches tall on a base roughly 1.75 by 1 inch. The aqua color is soft and pretty against a window. Condition is honest as found: no chips and no cracks, but the glass carries heavy exterior dirt and a whitish mineral haze, and the inside is cloudy with old residue. Some of that will wash off and some of it is etched into the glass from years in the ground, so expect a bottle with character rather than a sparkling one. A nice piece of Philadelphia druggist history for a shelf, a window or a dug bottle collection. Note for collectors: the base is hazed over and we have not been able to confirm whether it is smooth or pontiled, so it is priced as a smooth base example.
