Lebanon Valley College 1911 Yearbook The Bizarre Vol XIII Class of 1912 Annville
The Bizarre '12, Volume XIII, the 1911 yearbook of Lebanon Valley College in Annville, Pennsylvania, published by the Junior Class. Large format hardcover, roughly 10 by 13 inches, in the original navy and gold cloth boards with The Bizarre 1911 stamped in gilt blackletter down the front and an LVC '12 medallion below it. The volume is dedicated to Henry Eckert Wanner, Professor of Chemistry and Physics, with a mounted sepia portrait plate of him facing the dedication. Inside are faculty portraits with full biographies, class and student organization sections including the Clionian Literary Society with its group photograph and complete member roster, line art illustrations, a college calendar, and a period advertising section for Annville and Lebanon area merchants. A genuine piece of pre World War One Pennsylvania college history with dozens of named students and faculty, useful for alumni, local historians, and genealogy researchers. Condition: the interior is the strong point, with cream pages that are clean, bright, supple and fully legible, no tears, no water damage and no missing sections seen in the pages examined. The binding is tight and the text block is square. The cloth covers show honest age: general soiling and surface scuffing across the gold panel, scattered spotting on the navy panel, rubbing at the corners and along the spine edges.
