Albers Conical Equal Area projection at 1:7,000,000, about 110.5 miles to the inch, with boundaries shown as of September 1, 1939. Coverage runs from Tibet and Sinkiang across to Korea, Japan, Formosa, French Indochina, Thailand and the Philippines, with wartime era place names throughout. The White Mountains of New Hampshire, July 1937. Done in the studios of the National Geographic Society, Albert H. Bumstead chief cartographer, with sketches by Margaret B. Austin, copyright 1937. A pictorial relief map in sepia and earth tones, ringed with drawn vignettes of the region including the Flume at Franconia Notch, the Mount Washington Railway, the summit of Mount Washington, Echo Lake at North Conway, Glen Ellis Falls at Pinkham Notch, the Dolly Copp forest camp and an AMC ski cabin. Foot trails, ski trails, waterfalls, fire lookouts and landing fields are all keyed. Each opens to roughly 20 by 28 inches. No tears or missing sections. Both display well framed.
