Antique Olive Green Glass Pint Pocket Flask Tooled Double Ring Lip c1890-1915
Deep olive green glass pocket flask in the classic pint shape, about 7 inches tall and 4 inches across at the widest point. The neck carries a double ring collar with the mold seam running up the neck but not through the lip, which is the hand-finished construction used before automatic bottle machines took over. Small air bubbles are set through the glass. A fragment of the original paper stamp still clings to the neck ring. The base is a cup-bottom mold with a partial mold number. No embossed brand. No chips or cracks found and the lip is intact. There is interior staining in the lower half and light exterior haze and scratching. The color is the point here: a rich, even olive that reads almost black in low light and lights up green against a window. Color is what collectors pay for in antique glass, and this is the one bottle in this group that has it.
