Pride of Killarney Tea Tin American Stores Co Philadelphia 1930s Green Gold Shamrock
Rectangular lithographed tin from the Pride of Killarney Brand tea line, packed by American Stores Co. of Philadelphia, PA. Green ground with gold lettering throughout. Front panel reads 'Choice Growths of Ceylon, India, Java, Orange Pekoe' with a shamrock medallion at center. Reverse reads 'Delicious When Iced.' Lid is present and fits, with the Killarney Brand name and shamrock motif repeated on top. Approximate size based on photos: roughly 4 inches square by 6 inches tall. Heavy surface rust and paint loss on the bottom panel. Lid shows significant wear and loss of the printed design, with bare metal exposed across much of the top surface. Side panels retain most of the green lithography with scattered rust spots and paint chips throughout. Interior appears empty. American Stores Co. was a major grocery chain operating primarily in the early 20th century, placing this tin likely in the 1910s-1930s.
