Antique Aqua Glass Bottle Large Rectangular Flask Applied Lip 1800s

$35.00
Collectibles

A handsome large antique glass bottle in a soft aqua blue-green color, consistent with American or European production from the mid-to-late 1800s. The bottle features a rectangular body with rounded corners, a tall tapered neck, and a thick applied blob lip finish - a hallmark of pre-1910 hand-finished glassmaking. The base shows a prominent oval pontil or mold mark with what appears to be embossed text or a figure, though it is difficult to read clearly. The interior shows significant mineral deposits and haze from age, giving it the characteristic patina collectors look for. Mold seams run partway up the neck and stop below the lip, confirming the applied finish typical of mouth-blown bottles. The glass itself contains natural bubbles and imperfections from the manufacturing process. Approximate height is 10 to 11 inches based on hand scale in photos; width approximately 4 to 5 inches at the widest point. No chips or cracks are visible on the exterior, though interior residue and staining are present. A great display piece for antique bottle enthusiasts, apothecary-style decor, or a focused collection.
