Antique Blown Glass Case Bottle - Amethyst Sun-Colored, 18th/19th C

A lovely example of an early hand-blown case bottle, featuring a rectangular body with chamfered corners and a applied disk lip finish. The glass has turned a soft amethyst-lavender hue from prolonged sun exposure, a hallmark of manganese-decolorized glass produced roughly between 1880 and 1915, though earlier origin is possible given the form. The case bottle shape was designed to fit snugly in wooden traveling cases, commonly used for spirits, bitters, or apothecary contents. No embossing or mold markings are visible on the panels. The pontil base shows a rough open pontil scar, consistent with early hand production. Approximate dimensions based on photos: 7 to 8 inches tall, roughly 2.5 x 2.5 inch square body. Condition shows heavy interior mineral deposits and haze that have not been cleaned, exterior grime and patina from age, several small seed bubbles trapped in the glass walls consistent with period manufacture, and a small open bubble imperfection visible on one corner. No chips or cracks detected. The rolled lip is intact. A wonderful display piece for antique bottle collectors or vintage home decor enthusiasts.
