Antique Olive Green Glass Wine Bottle Applied Lip Pontil Mark

$18.00
Collectibles

A handsome antique glass bottle in rich olive-amber green, most likely a wine or spirits bottle dating to the late 19th or early 20th century. The bottle stands approximately 12 to 13 inches tall with a classic sloping shoulder silhouette and a deep pushed-up punt at the base. The lip is hand-applied and tooled, showing the uneven, slightly irregular finish characteristic of pre-machine-made glass production. The base displays a distinct open pontil or blowpipe pontil scar, confirming early manufacture. Numerous small bubbles and surface irregularities are trapped throughout the glass, adding to its authentic period character. The olive-green color is deep and warm, shifting toward amber in thicker sections. The exterior shows light surface scratches and soil residue consistent with age and excavation or cellar storage. No chips or cracks are visible. Empty and unlabeled. A great display piece, bud vase, or addition to a bottle collection.
