Antique Paine's Amber Glass Embossed Medicine Bottle, Pontil Base
Attractive antique amber glass bottle embossed with 'PAINE'S' along the front panel in raised lettering. The rectangular, paneled form is typical of late 19th to early 20th century patent medicine or celery compound bottles associated with the Paine's Celery Compound product line. The base shows a distinct open pontil or valve mark within a recessed circle, a key indicator of age and hand-finishing. The glass is a rich, warm amber with good clarity and shows typical period bubbles and flow lines from the manufacturing process. The applied or tooled collar finish is intact with no chips or cracks visible at the lip. A second dark olive-green glass bottle is also present in the photos, appearing to be a separate corked-neck style bottle also without chips. Both bottles are empty and appear free of contents. Exact measurements are not fully visible but the amber Paine's bottle appears to be approximately 7-9 inches tall based on proportions. Light interior residue and exterior grime consistent with age. No cracks or chips observed.
