Antique Dr. Bell's Veterinary Medical Wonder Bottle in Box

A rare piece of American patent medicine history: an antique Dr. Bell's Veterinary Medical Wonder bottle, still in its original cardboard box, produced by The Bell Wonder Medicine Co., Inc. of Alexandria Bay, N.Y. The box retains its original printed label in black and red ink, advertising use for horses, cattle, sheep, hogs, dogs, and poultry, with dosage instructions and a listed price of one dollar. The bottle inside is a small rectangular glass bottle with a black lacquered or enameled cap, dusty and aged but intact. The box itself shows heavy age wear, with torn and fraying edges, delamination at the open end, and significant soiling throughout, consistent with many decades of storage. The inner paper lining, made from what appears to be period newspaper, is partially torn. This is a wonderful display piece for collectors of patent medicine, farm ephemera, or early 20th century Americana. Approximate box dimensions: roughly 1 inch by 1 inch by 3.5 inches.
