Argus 35mm Rangefinder Camera Lot 2 Bodies Cintar Lens Cases Light Meter 1950s
A wonderful vintage photography collection centered around two Argus 35mm rangefinder cameras, most likely from the 1950s-1960s. Both cameras display the classic Argus brick-style body with the distinctive rangefinder wheel on top, coupled lens system, and the signature 'argus' nameplate on the front. The lenses visible appear to be Cintar-type coated optics. One camera is housed in its original brown leather ever-ready case and one is shown bare, showing the black leatherette body with chrome trim in good vintage condition. The lot includes a substantial collection of accessories: a brown leather camera bag with zipper and shoulder strap, a second brown leather Argus-branded case (round, likely for a C3 or similar), a light meter (black body, dial-type, brand not confirmed in photos), a lens or filter stack in a clear barrel, a cylindrical brown leather lens case with contents, a small boxed set of what appear to be flash bulbs, a vintage 'Land of Makebelieve - Upper Jay, NY' souvenir decal, a packet of 300 Photo Mounting Corners by Herald Square, an exposure guide booklet, and what appears to be a film information card. Condition is consistent with age. Cameras show light wear to chrome and leatherette. Leather cases show patina and use wear. Functional status of cameras and light meter is unknown and sold as-is for display or restoration. The lot measures roughly 18 inches across when laid flat; the camera bag is approximately 12 inches wide by 6 inches tall.
