Antique Hand Painted Nippon Porcelain Teapot and Sugar Bowl Set

A beautiful matched two-piece set of hand-painted Nippon porcelain, consisting of a teapot body and a smaller sugar bowl. Both pieces share the same charming rose and floral decoration, featuring large pink and deep magenta roses with orange buds and green foliage on a creamy white ground. The rims, handles, spout tips, and lower body accents are highlighted in rich cobalt blue with delicate gold dot beading along the scalloped rim line. The spout on the teapot has a decorative pierced strainer element. Both pieces carry a green rectangular backstamp reading 'T CHINA, Hand Painted, NIPPON,' dating this set to the Nippon era of Japanese export porcelain, generally accepted as pre-1921. The teapot is lidless as photographed; a lid may be missing. The sugar bowl is also open-top. Some age-related wear is visible on the unglazed foot rims, with minor soil and light scuffing consistent with age and use.
