Antique Japanese Kutani Porcelain Tea Set Dishes and Lidded Cup

A charming grouping of antique Japanese Kutani-style porcelain pieces featuring a set of three small scalloped dishes and a small lidded cup or sugar bowl. Each dish displays a hand-painted scenic design with figures in traditional dress, hanging decorative lanterns, cherry blossoms, and a riverside landscape, all rendered in iron-red, teal, pink, and gold on a white ground. The bold iron-red scalloped borders are accented with gold scroll details. The dishes have a squared recessed foot and measure approximately 5 to 6 inches across. The lidded piece has a ring finial with iron-red and gold banding and fits over a small cup or pot visible in the background. The reverse of the dishes shows an unglazed or lightly glazed square foot ring with some orange-red pigment transfer, and no visible maker's mark is apparent in the photos. There is light wear to the gilding consistent with age, some minor pigment losses at the rim edges, and surface crazing typical of early porcelain. These make a lovely display grouping for a collector of Asian export porcelain.
