Antique Hand Painted Nippon Porcelain Pitcher Roses Gold Trim

A lovely antique porcelain pitcher bearing a blue underglaze 'Hand Painted Nippon' backstamp, placing its manufacture between 1891 and 1921, the period when Japanese exports to the United States were required to carry the 'Nippon' country-of-origin mark. The body features lush hand-painted roses in cream, yellow, and deep rose-pink against a softly blended pink-to-white ground. Gold gilt trim accents the scalloped rim, the elegant scrolled handle, and a decorative medallion detail on the handle terminus. The base is footed with a scalloped edge that mirrors the rim. The pitcher stands approximately 9 to 10 inches tall based on photo proportions. The interior appears clean and white. Gold trim shows some expected age-related wear, particularly on the handle medallion, consistent with a piece over 100 years old. No chips or cracks are visible in the photos.
