Antique Hand-Painted Porcelain Bowl Blue Floral Butterfly Melon Form
A charming antique porcelain bowl with a lobed melon-form body and open top. The exterior features hand-painted decoration on a sky blue ground, with purple floral blossoms, butterflies, and green scrolling vines. White reserved panels on the lower lobes carry additional floral motifs with small orange accent details. The interior is plain white glaze. The base is unglazed at the foot ring with no visible reign mark. This style is consistent with late 19th to early 20th century export or domestic Chinese porcelain, though European influence in the palette and subject matter is also possible. Approximate dimensions appear to be roughly 4 to 4.5 inches in diameter and about 2 to 2.5 inches tall based on proportions. Condition shows age-appropriate wear including light soil and discoloration at the foot rim, minor scattered surface marks, a small dark inclusion spot visible on the interior base, and light rubbing to gilt scroll accents. No chips or cracks are visible in the photos. A decorative piece with genuine vintage appeal.
