Antique Nippon Hand Painted Porcelain Tea Cup, Roses Gold

A charming antique Japanese Nippon porcelain tea cup, hand painted with pink and deep rose cabbage roses, smaller purple blossoms, and soft green foliage. The exterior features two distinct decorative zones: a lower white ground with pink florals and green scrollwork with white beading, and an upper pale blue ground with large roses and elegant gold scrollwork cartouches. The rim and base ring are trimmed in gold. The handle is ornately shaped with gold accent lines. The interior is white with light gold trim at the rim. The scalloped rim adds a graceful, period-appropriate silhouette. The backstamp on the base reads 'Hand Painted Nippon' in blue with a wreath mark, consistent with pieces exported from Japan between approximately 1891 and 1921. Cup measures approximately 3 inches tall and 3.5 inches in diameter. Condition notes: gold trim shows wear and some loss consistent with age, a chip or loss to the gold base ring is visible, minor staining spots inside the bowl, and light crazing may be present. No saucer included. A lovely display piece for collectors of Nippon or antique Japanese porcelain.
