Antique Limoges Imari-Style Porcelain Charger Plate, J.P.L. France

A stunning antique porcelain charger plate made in Limoges, France, bearing two backstamps: a green underglaze mark reading 'J.P.L. France' and a red overglaze decorator mark reading 'P.U. Limoges.' The decoration follows the classic Japanese Imari palette and layout, featuring a central medallion with stylized floral motifs, bold cobalt blue panel dividers, and alternating reserve panels painted with orange peonies, blue hydrangeas, green foliage, cranes, and insects on a white ground. The reverse shows scattered blue brushstroke floral sprigs and a double blue ring around the foot rim, consistent with period export-style decoration. The plate measures approximately 11 to 12 inches in diameter based on proportions. Condition is very good for its age, with minor surface wear and slight kiln speckling visible on the reverse, consistent with antique manufacture. No chips or cracks detected in the photos. A beautiful display piece for collectors of Limoges porcelain or Imari-style ceramics.
