Lionel 6457 O Gauge SP-Type Caboose Postwar Brown, Built 9-47
Classic Lionel postwar O gauge caboose, number 6457, in the iconic brown SP-type style. The car body clearly shows the Lionel logo and road number 6457 on both sides, along with the built date marking 'Built 9-47,' placing production in September 1947. The caboose features a raised cupola with open windows, molded rivet and panel detail across the body, a rooftop stack, and metal wire end railings and ladders on both ends. Trucks are the standard Lionel die-cast type with metal wheels. The car body is plastic in a rich brown color with white heat-stamped lettering and the classic Lionel 'L' circle logo. Approximate length is around 9 inches over the couplers. Condition is very good for its age, with light surface grime and minor oxidation on the metal railings and couplers, consistent with decades of storage or display. Paint and lettering remain crisp and intact. No visible cracks or broken parts observed in the photos. Couplers appear functional. A great addition to any postwar Lionel O gauge collection or layout.
