Austin Productions

Pair of Asian Austin Production Figures from the early 1960s. 8.5 inches tall.

GoodHome Decor

A striking pair of hand-crafted figurines from Austin Productions, depicting seated Asian scholars in traditional dress, each shown cross-legged and engaged with objects in their hands. One figure holds what appears to be a writing instrument and tablet, while the other works with a small latticed or gridded tray, suggesting calligraphy or scholarly study. Both figures wear traditional brimmed hats and flowing robes rendered with fine detail. The finish is a deep black with verdigris green accents settled into the recessed areas of the robes, hands, and decorative elements, giving the appearance of aged bronze or patinated metal. The smooth, polished quality of the raised surfaces contrasts beautifully with the oxidized green in the crevices. Austin Productions was a Brooklyn-based studio art company active from the 1950s through the 1990s, well known for high-quality cast resin and composite figurines with artistic finishes. These figures date to the early 1960s and stand approximately 8.5 inches tall. The pair is in good overall condition with no visible chips, cracks, or major damage. Minor surface wear is consistent with age and handling. A decorative and culturally rich pair suited for a desk, bookshelf, or display cabinet. Sold as a matching set of two.
