Single Vintage Roller Skate
A charming piece of mid-20th century Americana, this single metal clamp-on roller skate is a wonderful example of classic sidewalk skate design from roughly the 1940s-1960s. The skate features an aluminum die-cast platform with a clamp mechanism at the toe and heel designed to grip the sole of a shoe, eliminating the need for a boot. The red leather ankle strap is still attached and retains its original hardware rivets. Four metal wheels are present and appear to spin, though they show heavy surface rust and patina consistent with age. The brown leather toe and heel clamp straps are intact but heavily worn and dried. Overall length is approximately 8-9 inches. This is a single skate, not a pair. Displays beautifully as a nostalgic collectible or prop. Sold as a decorative vintage item only, not intended for use.
