Antique C. Atkins & Co. Handsaw Indianapolis Indiana Carved Handle
Antique hand saw by C. Atkins & Co. of Indianapolis, Indiana. Features a beautifully carved wooden handle with decorative leaf/floral relief carving and the classic Atkins split-nut medallion visible on the handle - partially readable text confirms 'Atkins & Co.' and 'Indianapolis, Indiana.' The blade is a full-length taper-ground crosscut style, tapering toward the toe. Teeth appear intact along the full length of the blade. Handle shows significant age patina, surface checking, and some white residue/paint spots on the wood. Blade has heavy darkening/oxidation and surface rust/patina consistent with age but no visible cracks or breaks. The ornate 'horned' handle profile is characteristic of late 19th to early 20th century Atkins saws. Overall length approximately 26 - 28 inches. A desirable antique tool collectible from one of America's most respected saw manufacturers.
