Fred Stone 'Moment of the Year' Charismatic 1999 Belmont LE Canvas Lithograph #66/250

$750.00
Art

Stunning limited edition canvas lithograph by renowned equine artist Fred Stone, titled 'Moment of the Year - Charismatic & Chris Antley, 1999 Belmont.' This emotionally powerful piece depicts jockey Chris Antley's heroic act of jumping off Charismatic after the 1999 Belmont Stakes to prevent the horse from bearing weight on an injured leg - a moment widely celebrated as the NTRA's 'Moment of the Year.' Charismatic subsequently received Eclipse Awards as both Horse of the Year and Outstanding Three-Year-Old Colt. This is print number 66 of a strictly limited edition of 250, personally signed and numbered by Fred Stone on 3/12/2000. Comes with the original Certificate of Registration & Authentication affixed to the verso. The certificate notes that all production film, printing plates, and proofing sheets have been destroyed, and 25 unnumbered artist's proofs exist. The piece is presented in a handsome dark walnut-toned wood frame with gold inner trim and includes a brass picture light (hardwired, cord visible). Frame back is stamped 'Made in Italy' with item number 46594. The canvas surface has a textured finish giving it the appearance of an original oil painting. Warm earth tones - chestnut, amber, ivory - complement the dramatic composition. Condition: Very good overall per staff notes. Minor aging/toning visible on the backing paper. The frame shows normal wear consistent with age. The picture light is included and functional. A highly collectible piece for horse racing enthusiasts, Triple Crown fans, and equine art collectors.
