Berlin Wall Fall LE Glass Beer Stein #329/2000 Willi Geck 1989
Rare and historically significant limited edition glass beer stein commemorating the fall of the Berlin Wall on 9 November 1989. Handmade in West Germany by Willi Geck, this is piece number 329 out of only 2000 produced. The clear glass body features beautiful etched imagery including the Brandenburg Gate, figures celebrating the wall's fall, and the date '9. November 1989.' The ornate pewter lid is embellished with intricate relief scrollwork and floral motifs. The finial on top of the lid holds an authentic fragment of the actual Berlin Wall concrete - rough, grey, porous material consistent with the Wall's construction - verified by an included Certificate of Authenticity signed by Andreas Zimmermann, stating 'the stone is a genuine piece of the Berlin Wall.' The original hang tag reads 'Original Brandenburg Gate Stein, Limited Edition 2000 pcs., No: 329/2000, each piece numbered on base, Handmade in West-Germany, Willi Geck' with maker's signature. The pewter handle features an ornate figural thumb lift. Both the original hang tag and certificate of authenticity are still attached. Approximately 7-8 inches tall. A significant Cold War-era collectible with remarkable provenance.
