Antique R.V. Pierce M.D. Embossed Medicine Bottle, Late 1800s

$13.00
Collectibles

A charming antique glass medicine bottle embossed with 'R.V. PIERCE M.D.' on the side panel. Dr. Ray Vaughn Pierce was a prominent 19th-century patent medicine entrepreneur based in Buffalo, New York, best known for products like Golden Medical Discovery and Favorite Prescription. This bottle is a collectible relic of the patent medicine era. The bottle features a rectangular, flat-sided form with chamfered corners, a threaded screw-top neck finish, and a light aqua-green glass tint typical of late 19th to early 20th century manufacture. The base bears an embossed mold number reading approximately '86/10' or similar, which can help narrow dating. The bottle stands roughly 7 to 8 inches tall based on hand scale reference. Condition is very good for its age. Light interior haze and surface dirt are present consistent with age and use. No chips or cracks visible in the photos. The embossing is crisp and well-defined. A great display piece for bottle collectors, antique medicine enthusiasts, or anyone decorating with vintage apothecary style.
